Saint-Antoine-d’Auberoche & The Local Area
Some local photos taken within ten or so minutes drive from La Farge and St-Antoine-d'Auberoche. As and when time allows, we will be adding more photos.
Saint-Antoine-d'Auberoche
Just a couple of minutes from the gîte, Saint-Antoine-d'Auberoche is a commune in the Dordogne department in Nouvelle-Aquitaine in southwestern France. In the 1850s, a large part of the village of Saint-Antoine-d'Auberoche was destroyed to allow the construction of the Périgueux-Brive railway line.

L’église Saint-Antoine was constructed in the 12th century.

Saint-Crepin-d'Auberoche
Situated on the main road to Périguex (D6089), six or so minutes drive east from Saint-Antoine-d’Auberoche, is another 'Saint'... ‘Saint-Crepin-d'Auberoche’.

Saint-Crepin-d'Auberoche features a highly decorated 'lavoir', in fact, one of the most decorated lovoirs that I have seen in the region! In case you did not guess, from wiki "A lavoir is a public place set aside for the washing of clothes".

Saint-Pierre-de-Chignac
Continuing along the main road to Périguex from Saint-Crepin-d'Auberoche, for a few minutes more, is yet another 'Saint'. Welcome to ‘Saint-Pierre-de-Chignac’.

A very unique, and very charming fishing lodge at Étang de Sauge, Saint Pierre de Chignac.

Fishing is available with a permit.

Fossemagne
Five or so minutes drive south east from St-Antoine-d’Auberoche lies ‘Le bourg de Fossemagne’, the village of Fossemagne. Fossemagne is a commune in the Dordogne department in Nouvelle-Aquitaine in southwestern France.

Lac, étang à Fossemagne. A five hectare mixed use lake with lots of ducks. Sometimes you might spot white and grey herons, or even a cormorant or three!
