Limeuil
Claimed as “One of the Most Beautiful Villages of France” in 1990, also in our opinion this is still current today, the medieval village of Limeuil is one of the jewels of the Périgord. There is certainly plenty to see and do in order to fill out your day here. If you prefer smaller more manageable villages and towns, then this is definitely one place that we suggest you should consider visiting.

The ‘Jardins Panoramiques de Limeuil’ is a large themed hilltop garden, situated above the confluence of the rivers Dore (Dordogne) and Vézère. As the name suggests, with spectacular panoramic views, the visit offers much more than just seeing a lovely garden!

Hire a canoe, go fishing, paddle, read a book or picnic by the waterside.

After a hilly walk, head to the Mairie, relax, take some shade from the sun under the leafy grape vines and look out to the rivers Dore (Dordogne) and Vézère.
