Close to some the best tourist attractions in Dordogne
Gîte Lau Pito Meizou is a rural holiday gîte located in La Farge, which is situated beside the village of Saint-Antoine-d’Auberoche, in the picturesque countryside of Périgord Blanc - one of the four Périgord regions that made up the former Périgord province, now called Dordogne. The gîte closely borders its former Périgord neighbor, the Périgord Noir, where some of the best tourist attractions and tourist activities can be found, including the beautiful medieval town of Sarlat, probably one of the nicest towns in Dordogne that we have visited (so far!). Don’t forget Lascaux in Montignac.
Access into Périgueux is quick and easy
Access into Périgueux, the capital of the Dordogne department, is quick and easy when taking the main road D6089. Alternatively, you could also take the beautiful scenic back roads, were you will pass through some lovely little Périgordian villages and it will only take you a few minutes longer. Additionally, by taking the back roads, you will conveniently arrive in Trélissac or Boulizac (both are suburbs on our side of Périgueux), where you will find various hypermarchés, amongst a selection of other large shops and restaurants, all of which have ample, convenient free parking. Our suggestions for things to see and do
Our central location in Périgord Blanc, almost in the heart of the Dordogne, makes an excellent base from which to explore the Dordogne in any direction, in particular and as already mentioned the beautiful Périgord Noir region.
Having now lived in Dordogne for a few years, we have explored a lot of the department and we have recently created a useful summary page, with some suggestions of things to see and do in the different Périgord regions.
Almost everything is on hand here, without being located in the hustle and bustle of the busy touristy areas, and is's one of the reasons why we chose the location and why we also suggest that you reserve/book the gîte!
What is in our local area?
For those lazy days there are many local shops, bars, cafés, restaurants and amenities & facilities. We hope that you do not need any of our medical & emergency facilities. However, should any unfortunate situation arise, such as tooth-ache/abscess etc, then please do not let it spoil your holiday - just let us know and we will be happy to pull as many strings as possible and get it taken care of for you.
